Responsibilities
- Supervision of the engine plant in service
- Planning and supervision of maintenance work in Engine Department
- Daily job discussion with second engineer and daily routine ship inspection.
- Improve performance and efficiency of engine room work team.
- To work according to the planned maintenance schedule.
- Arranging preparing and recording of machinery survey.
- Ensure proper operation of safety equipment's and its certificate still valid.
- Testing of machinery space lifting gear.
- Planning maintenance check list to ensure machinery are properly maintained and reduced the risk of sudden break down of plant operation.
- Keep records of machinery description, date of service, part changed and remarks etc
- Planning and supervision of maintenance work concerning technical systems in all departments including windlass,capstain and air conditioning system, etc.
- Ensuring of the safety of passengers, crew, vessel and cargo
- Supervision for all bunkering operations
- Maintenance of the Oil Record Book
- Optimizing the quality of services
- Personnel management Engine Department
- Watchkeeping/ planning and supervision of watchkeeping
- Requisition of fuel, lubricants, chemicals, stores and spare parts for Engine dept.
- Advising the shipboard management in all technical matters
- Administration and maintenance of technical documentation
- Cost control and effective management of engine spares and tools
- Training and instruction of the engine crew
- Tasks according to Muster List
- Housekeeping of the oil spill locker equipment Special Tasks:
- Leader of the Oil Spill Response/ SOPEP Team
Minimum Requirements
- Licenses and examinations compulsory for the vessel
- Medical fitness
- Professional experience
