Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and review daily accounting transactions.
- Monitor sales, purchases, receipts, payments, cash and bank transactions.
- Review and approve accounting entries within delegated authority.
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Monitor supplier and customer outstanding balances.
- Review daily shop sales and cash reconciliations.
- Monitor bank and cash reconciliations.
- Review petty cash and expense claims.
- Monitor inventory and stock-related financial transactions.
- Assist with import, freight, port, clearance and landed-cost accounting.
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow planning.
- Monitor departmental and outlet expenses against budgets.
- Support month-end and year-end closing.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks and other financial institutions.
- Ensure proper financial documentation and internal controls.
- Identify financial discrepancies, unusual transactions and control weaknesses.
- Assist management with financial analysis and decision-making.
- Supervise and guide Accounts Executives and junior accounting staff.
- Ensure accounting procedures and company financial policies are properly followed.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial and company information.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Relevant professional accounting qualification or progress toward one is an advantage.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting/finance experience.
- Experience in retail, FMCG, import/distribution, wholesale or multi-business operations is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Excellent Excel and accounting software/ERP skills.
- Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and team-management skills.
- High level of accuracy, integrity and confidentiality.
