What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the month-end and year-end financial close process and prepare accurate
- financial statements.
- Oversee the general ledger, AP, AR, fixed assets, and payroll accounting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Manage inventory accounting, including valuation, costing, stock reconciliations,
- inventory ageing, provisioning, and cost of goods sold.
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition and gross margin reporting across equipment,
- parts, and service.
- Design and maintain internal controls, finance policies, and standard operating
- procedures.
- Lead and coordinate the annual external audit and ensure timely tax and regulatory
- compliance.
- Manage banking relationships, treasury, cash flow, collections, payment processing,
- and working capital.
- Prepare timely management reports, annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and variance
- analysis to support business decision-making.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance team while fostering a culture of
- continuous improvement and professional development.
- Partner with sales, service, and operations teams to improve profitability, operational
- performance, and commercial decision-making.
- Develop and maintain purchasing policies and processes to ensure value for money, effective supplier management, and optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance.
What We're Looking For
- Fully qualified ACCA, CA, or CPA accountant.
- 8-10 years' accounting and finance experience, including 3-5 years in an audit firm (highly desirable).
- Experience in a trading, distribution, equipment dealership, or other inventory intensive business would be an advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, inventory accounting, stock costing,and cost of goods sold.
- Experience with revenue recognition across equipment sales, parts, and service operations.
- Proven experience managing external audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting.
- Experience managing banking relationships, cash flow, and treasury operations.
- Proficiency with accounting systems such as Xero, Unleashed, or other ERP systems and accounting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query, and financial modelling (highly desirable).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior management and external partners.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
