Candidate profile
- 3–5 years’ engineering experience in a luxury resort/hotel environment.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
- Skilled in preventive maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and coordinating repair works.
- Experience in leading and training engineering teams with a hands-on and proactive approach.
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred).
- Organized, reliable, and able to support the Chief Engineer in daily operations and continuous improvement.
Job Description
- Continuously look for better ways to improve the maintenance department in terms of strategy, procedures, workflow, etc.
- Whenever engineering projects are on in the island/ resort, you must take initiative to follow up and give full cooperation in order to complete the projects in time.
- If there are contractors involved, you too must work closely with the contractors to ensure the projects are done smoothly.
- In the absence of the Chief Engineer, you are to represent the Chief Engineer to attend daily ops meeting at time given (at present stage, ops meeting is at 10am every day except Friday)
- By attending Ops meetings, you will be able to get firsthand information on maintenance concerned works/ projects hence to give full and efficient cooperation to other departments to ensure Customer Satisfaction.
- As the acting department head, you are to fulfill tasks that required to the Maintenance Manager
- Daily briefing with the subordinates on daily operations needs and tasks. To follow up on projects’ status before shift started. At present stage, it is recommended that you conduct Morning briefing daily at 7.15am for those who are on duty disputed work and follow up.
- Prepare staff : working schedules, administration paper works such as monthly attendance, leave application/ approval, work safety of maintenance department, tools/equipment/materials inventory check, ordering, storing etc.
- Frequent check on the powerhouse/ generator to avoid unwanted situation (at least twice a week)
- Frequent check on water Plant to avoid unwanted situation (at least twice a week)
- Frequent check on all sections in Maintenance such as Air-conditioning, carpentry, electrical, building maintenance, painting, electronics, etc. works to avoid.
- As an acting department head during the absence of the Maintenance Manager, you are required to lead the team by example.
- You are to fully responsible to all tasks and jobs that under your care, be punctual on daily duty as well as to complete the projects/ tasks in timeline given.
- As second in-charge of the department, you are to assist the Chief Engineer to equally delicate, guide, coach, advice and lead the subordinates to fulfill the tasks given which cover the 3 main aspects in a maintenance department:
