General Requirements
- Completed GCE A’ Level education or above
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Job Specification
- Work with Chief and Assistant Chief Medical Lab Technologist in managing the daily lab operations in terms of stock, staffing, services and other daily issues
- Communicate with warehouse, procurement and finance regarding stock management
- Communicate with lab technologists and lab assistants regarding referral lab test process
- Communicate with HR and relevant team members regarding the daily staff schedule and rostering
- Assist in administrative tasks related to daily, weekly, monthly events, meetings and reports
- Ensure copies of all forms used for phlebotomy and blood banking are kept available at all times
- Be familiar with and apply all hospital policies
- Display courteous, sympathetic, professional manner towards patients, co-workers, nursing and medical staff
- Follow standard precautions including universal safety precautions wherever applicable
- Keep laboratory area neat and ensure all supplies are sufficiently replenished
- Maintain par levels of inventory in Phlebotomy section and other sections
- Complete assigned duties efficiently and in a timely manner
- Prioritize the tasks appropriately
- Assist in transporting the samples to other labs when necessary
- Seek guidance and direction when necessary
- Demonstrate the value of team concept on a consistent basis
- Assist Laboratory Technologists where necessary
- Perform all delegated tasks as given out by the Chief Medical Laboratory Technologist or designee
