Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the daily functioning of all hotel departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Kitchen, Engineering, Security, Human Resources, and Sales & Marketing.
- Lead, guide, and support department heads in achieving departmental goals and aligning operations with overall business strategy.
- Conduct regular management meetings to review performance, address challenges, and plan for operational improvements.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and Restaurant Managers to develop menus, ensure food quality, maintain hygiene standards, and optimize inventory and cost control.
- Monitor revenue, profitability, and guest feedback to continuously improve services.
- Develop and implement short- and long-term strategic plans for the hotel’s growth, profitability, and market competitiveness.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for VIP guests, corporate clients, and key stakeholders.
- Personally handle escalated complaints or service issues with discretion and professionalism.
- Monitor service quality and customer satisfaction metrics, and take corrective action when needed.
- Lead special initiatives such as hotel renovations, rebranding, new service launches, or operational restructuring.
- Oversee sustainability, safety, or training programs as per company or legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including health & safety, fire regulations, food safety, and licensing laws.
- Enforce adherence to brand standards, service protocols, and corporate values.
- Ensure all staff are trained and aligned with the brand’s vision and quality expectations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a General Manager or senior resort leader
- Strong background in resort operations, ideally within premium or upscale segments
- Exceptional leadership, people development, and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills (mandatory)
- Confident professional presence with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong command of Financial reporting, Budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Proven track record of Driving profitability and revenue optimization
- Ensuring departmental accountability through financial KPIs
- Improving operational efficiency without compromising guest experience
- High level of technological awareness with a strong drive toward 1. Digitally enabled hotel operations 2. PMS, RMS, CRM, and integrated reporting platforms 3. Process automation and data-driven decision-making
- Ability to lead teams through system enhancements and operational modernization
- Prior Maldives experience with a solid understanding of: 1. Local regulations and compliance2. Workforce management and cultural dynamics (strong advantage)3. Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple stakeholders
