Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, such as cranes, bulldozers, graders, excavators, and other machinery used in construction.
- Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/ elcetrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
- Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
- Repair and maintain broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
- Examine the parts of vehicle defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
- Inform and request spare parts to repair the diagnosed problems from operations.
- Analyse test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Tear down, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, and linkages.
- Assist in preparing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Observe and test the operation of vehicles, machinery, and equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using testing devices Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
- Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
- Confer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirement Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.
- Record repairs and maintenance performed.
- Ensure that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and company standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in an automobile related field with one year of experience OR
- 3 years' experience in a related field
