Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree/undergraduate degree in political science, human rights, laws, social sciences, international affairs/relation or in a relevant field with minimum 12 years of work experience including at least 4 years of work experience in a related field and at least 5 years of experience in senior management.; OR 
  • Master’s degree or higher qualification in political science, human rights, laws, social sciences, international affairs/relation or in a relevant field with minimum 9 years of work experience including  at least 4 years of work experience in a related field and at least 5 years of experience in senior management.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in financial management, organizational and human resource management, resource mobilization and overall quality assurance of funding proposals and donor reports, including knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to the non-government organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in project design and management; strategic planning and implementation; organizational coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams.   
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent research, communications and writing skills in English and Dhivehi required.  
  • Ability to deliver in a high-pressure environment; and ability to handle and lead the organization during complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Desired Additional Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated experiences of working in the civic space, donor agencies or international development agencies.
  • Experience and technical know-how on anti-corruption and governance issues and standards and best practices and knowledge of political context and human rights issues in the Maldives.   
  • Demonstrated experience of in developing budgets and financial reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills including experience working and building relationships with a wide range of actors, including government, civil society, private sector, and international bodies.
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation of performance/effectiveness through activity indicators and budgetary measures.
  • High level of intercultural competence, diplomacy and political sensitivity.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge on emerging governance issues and local context including social justice, social cohesion, community resilience and engagement.   
  • Strong commitment to the values and principles of Transparency Maldives’ and Transparency International’s values and standards. 
  • Demonstrated experience of working on advocacy campaigns and strategic communications around anti-corruption, social justice, good governance or rule of law,
  • Strong knowledge of gender and inclusivity mainstreaming concepts, tools and approaches.
