Job Description

  • Ensure that the Housekeeping department is managed efficiently and in accordance to the company / Hotel policies & standards.
  • Establishes and/or implements the highest possible standards of cleanliness, maintenance, guestroom supplies and amenities at a realistic cost and ensures that they, through effective training, are communicated to the entire crew. 
  • Plan and coordinate the activities of all supervisors, their crew and monitor performance periodically.
  • Regularly inspects assigned areas (rooms and public) with supervisors, their crew and monitor performance periodically.
  • Coordinates with the engineering department for their timely repair of damaged facility assets that are adversely impacting on the safety, appearance, operation or cleanliness of the facility.
  • Ensure that all daily V I P rooms including FAM group, Special request rooms, long stay guest room for arrivals are inspected personally and in line with the standard set-up by the hotel. 
  • Implements and controls Housekeeping procedures that provide for the health and safety of personnel and guests, such as lost and found service, key control, security and emergency and environmental procedures
  • To carry out monthly linen inventory.
  • Responsible for all floral arrangements placed in the public areas and rooms. 
  • To be demanding and critical when it comes to service standards. 
  • To ensure that the Housekeeping Department team projects a warm, professional and welcome image.
  • Networks/interacts with guest on the status of housekeeping service in their facilities and reports complaints to management if no immediate solution can be found, assuring follow up with guests. Ensures supervisors do the same.
  • To implement consistent guest recognition program and update guest database accordingly.
  • Plan and implement, in coordination with the Front Office and the Engineering Department, periodical preventive maintenance/spring cleaning of all rooms/public areas.
  • Makes recommendation to the General Manager and Resident Manager regarding the upkeep of furnishings, facilities and equipment, ensuring they are clean and good repair.
  • Integrates the latest technology and housekeeping standards of existing competitor/benchmark resorts.
  • To ensure that the Department Operations Manual/SOPs are updated on a regular basis and communicates to all concerned.
  • Ensure that all meetings are well planned, efficient and results oriented.
  • Initiate weekly meetings with engineering/housekeeping/gardening/island cleaning and laundry supervisor to establish operational priorities (weekly work schedules), discuss product/service enhancement opportunities and resolve operational issues.
  • To attend daily operations briefing with the General Manager and all other department head.
